Fanboy Wars: Do they put too much pressure on people to buy games?

This generation has been the cause of heated fanboy wars, specifically between Sony’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 products. It has come to the point where huge exclusive titles such as Gears of War, or Killzone 2 mean much more than just providing enjoyment for gamers. Now a days you feel like you HAVE to buy a game such Killzone 2, just to ensure your respective consoles bragging rights.
