B Company Welcome to the 222nd Army battalion, B-company. This is where the Army rakes together all the insubordinates, hellraisers and troublemakers that won’t fit in any other unit. When the Rangers and Deltas are too expensive to waste, these guys are the first ones in. They’re called “Bad Company”; a mismatched bunch of rejects selected to serve their country as cannon fodder. This isn’t the kind of outfit a lot of soldiers would join voluntarily. Getting transferred to “the B” is a punishment and a way for the generals to put all their rotten eggs in one basket. No one starts out in Bad Company. But for some, this is where they end up. |

4 Stars Pretty, pretty fun
Although I wouldn’t recommend going with the Gold version, I would recommend the game. The single player campaign isn’t terribly difficult but it is quite fun. Funny storyline, good acting and the ability to blow everything us is a hoot. I liked the varied weapons and vechicles. The AI leaves a little to be desired, they all seem like crack shots once you’ve been spotted.
Multiplayer is pretty good, lots of things to unlock and lots of achievements to get. Lots of different classes to have your soldier be and they did a good job giving you points for doing different things (defending, being a medic, engineer reparing tanks). [...]
5 Stars A lot of FUN!!
This is one of the best games I’ve ever played! I love the graphics and just the overall fun of fighting a war, without all the blood & guts. I hope there will be other games similar to this one. I don’t think one needs to have all the reality action to have fun. This game is fun and challenging. Good work whoever the creators are.
4 Stars Great Addition to the XBox
I love the battlefield series and this game is no exception. It took a little bit to get used to the xbox controller coming from the other battlefield series on the computer, but overall it was easy and worth it. The visuals are great even on a non-HD TV. The destructible environments are worth the stray shells everytime. There is just something about mowing down a forest trying to get the flanking teams while you are being rushed. I heard the BC:2 is supposed to be a little better. I think it will be great.
The only con I could find, for at least the first few hours in, is the multiplayer segment. The game is fine and the goals are simple, but we get staggering lag that prevents us from enjoying the game. It might just be our location, because I know from experience that the battlefield series has always excelled in the multiplayer segment if not dominated. So, that being a small worry for most players, the game is worth every penny.
P.S. Since I have not played too much multiplayer, I have not been able to enjoy the benefits of the gold edition. *bummer*
4 Stars Mother’s quandary
I bought this for my 13-year-old son after much nagging. He is in love with this game. I haven’t been able to get him off of it since we got it. The only good thing about it as far as I’m concerned is that a threat to take it away from him will cause him to behave briefly until he can glue himself to it again. I think his adoration of this game is increased by the fact that I abhor war and violence. He likes to play online when I’m with him and to get “killed.” It combines the wonderful world of gross out your mother with driving tanks. He’s enchanted.
2 Stars no more “conquest” (?) mode
When we first got this game, my son (15) used to play it all the time, then somehow the game makers or somebody took away “conquest” (?) gameplay for multiplayer, and he doesn’t play it anymore.
