5 Stars Totally addicted!
Great game! Im not usually into video games at all.. My boyfriend bought this one and I couldnt put it down. After figuring it out - which yes, takes a few minutes, but isnt rocket science by any means..its a GREAT time! Reeling in a 95 pound Flathead Catfish was a blast! Unlocking new boats and cool lures is just bonus the fun!! I recommend!

3 Stars I should have known:
Look at the “Product Features” provided:

–Buy with confidence!

–Rapala Trophies X360

Wow what a description.

This is one boring product.

I expected it to be as good as the xbox “pro fishing challenge”-nope.

I expected it to be a learning tool for fishing–nope.

I expected it to have different lures in addition to Rapala (excellent product by the way) such as spinners, soft and spoon lures—nope.

I just use the free fishing option. I hope sombody, if over 12, who enjoys fishing and the enjoyment of video games can provide and go beyond my exerience with this product. Oh wait, I forgot, graphics are ok.

Also “Fun” is two stars not three.

4 Stars Rapala Tournament Fishing
After I learned to quips and quotes ,I have finished the tournaments and have enjoyed playing it. The boats were hard to operate at first but I learned to operate them.

4 Stars Fishing.
The game came in the mail pretty quick, and it is in excelent condition and plays great…the kids love it!

3 Stars As boring as real fishing
The game leaves you with little instruction. It’s just like the real thing. If someone dropped you by a lake with a bunch of fishing gear and a boat, but offered you no instruction as to what works well and how, you would be playing this game. It’s slow, there is no action and the weather is mediocre. Catching a fish is slightly more boring than catching a real one and is extrememly frustrating when you lose it because you have the wrong gear because nobody told you any different.

Project Sylpheed: Arc of Deception

Project Sylpheed: Arc of Deception

Project Sylpheed X360

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars a hidden gem
I actually like it more than Ace Combat 6, and though they’re two very different shooters, I think that tells a lot. The controls are good, the graphics are nice, and your fellow pilots are acceptably intelligent. The one thing that’s missing is multiplayer. This is one game that would work perfectly with multiplayer online co-op or versus. I’m hoping they’ll do a sequel with multiplayer.

If you downloaded the demo on Xbox marketplace and thought the mission was pretty hard, don’t fret. The demo mission is one of the extra challenge missions in the add-on pack. The story missions don’t start out that hard, and by the time you reach those missions, you have a much better arsenal. The difficulty is also adjustable.

Afraid because the critics reviewed it poorly? Don’t trust those negative reviews. Trust the people who actually played the game for some time like us on Amazon and Metacritic.com’s user reviews.

Definitely worth the $25 new from Amazon, and the other new/used deals on Amazon are a true steal. When you do get the game, don’t forget to download the free extra challenge missions/leaderboard add-on from the Xbox marketplace.

4 Stars Undeserved attention to a great game
I also don’t understand why this game has gone by without much attention. It’s really fun and the graphics are amazing. About the controls you can always customize so that’s not a big issue. When I play the game I recall the dog fighting scenes in space from the Robotech Macross Saga Series. Stunning!

4 Stars Great game, even in 2010.
This game is a sleeper, one of the most underrated games ever put out! If you are interested at all then you need to pick it up!

5 Stars Great space shooter
This is an excellent game, for several reasons:

1) The story. Unlike other space plots, there are no aliens here. Just human against human. I personally like the idea that we have enough evil in us to cause us each other grief forever, without the need for an alien race. Plus, you gotta love the over the top anime-esque characters. Also, the “overpowering central government” vs. “freedom-seeking rebel alliance” paradigm is always entertaining, even more so in today’s world.

2) The gameplay. It just works. After learning the controls, you can dive in and start fighting right away. But for those who are really into it, there is alot of depth to the gameplay mechanics, such as sliding, gliding, using weapons layouts properly, using special attacks, etc. You could spend alot of time playing over and over again trying to improve your mission grade and using more advanced techniques.

3) Fun factor. The game is just fun to play, period. There’s that intangible fun factor that some games have and others don’t, which Project Sylpheed indeed has. It makes you want to keep coming back for more.

4) Awesome spaceships. One thing I loved about the old Silpheed for Sega CD was the ship design was so cool. Especially at the time as a teenage boy when I was into spaceships and jets. I find the same feeling comes back to me when playing this game. I love going to the hanger view and just looking at the Delta Saber. So if you are, or were as a kid, into cool spaceships, you’ll like the spaceship designs in this game, both yours, as well as all the big battleships and cruisers.

Overall this is an excellent game, one of the funnest 360 games I’ve played in a while.

4 Stars Warning to people without HD Widescreen televisions
Although this was an amazing game that didn’t get the exposure it needed to become a real blockbuster, the reason I am posting this is because of the people who complain about the cluttered HUD.

If you do not own an HD Widescreen television at least 1920×1080 resolution, MOST games on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 will be “smashed” to fit your screen, as they are both next-gen systems optimized for use on HD Widescreen displays (Sylpheed being one of many optimized games).

Why you would even buy a next-gen system without owning an HDTV is beyond me to begin with. I thought people learned their lesson when Dead Rising came out and you couldn’t read the text on a SDTV.

In closing, I highly recommend against buying ANY HD videogames without an HD display, as you will most likely strain/damage your eyesight trying to play them. They should stick that in the manual warnings I think, not that anyone ever reads those…

F.E.A.R. 3

F.E.A.R. 3

Alma returns in F.E.A.R. 3 but this time her sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel introduce divergent co-op, giving players distinctly different abilities affecting their own play as well as the experience of their co-op partner. Gamers participate in single player or co-op modes as Point Man, a genetically enhanced super soldier originally introduced in F.E.A.R., or they can play cooperatively as his conniving brother Paxton Fettel, whose incredible telekinetic power has given him life beyond the grave. The game is developed by Day 1 Studios, developer of the original F.E.A.R. console games in collaboration with Monolith Studios.

Singularity

Singularity

Fight your way through an ever-shifting environment haunted with time ravaged creatures, while sudden time wave hurl you back and forth between 1950 and the present day. Use your wits and the perfect weapon - the Time Manipulation Device - to unravel the conspiracy on the remote island of Katorga-12

Singularity is a first-person shooter developed by the legendary Raven Software and utilizing the power and flexibility of the Unreal 3 game engine. Story
In the dark, Cold War winter of 1949-50 Stalin, the brutal leader of the Soviet Union, had two super weapons: long range missiles and the atomic bomb. But even if his teams of forced labor managed to build a missile powerful enough to carry an atomic payload, Stalin still faced encirclement by the United States and the Strategic Air Command. He knew that he needed another advantage over the United States, one that would ensure Soviet security and superiority. Then came the chance discovery on the remote island of Katorga-12 off the wild Kamchatka peninsula, of a previously unknown material, Element 99 (E99). E99 became the new source of Stalin’s hope: a new energy source of unparalleled power. Unfortunately, the new element also yielded a new kind of contamination risk. But these were acceptable risks to Stalin - anything for the advancement of the Soviet people. Even so, on September 21, 1950, driven to complete the project, and in violation of the safety protocols, a Russian scientist, Viktor Barisov, personally triggered a device powered by E99 that caused a catastrophic event that affected the entire island. What happened next is unclear. However, there are reports that Stalin’s final dying order was a handwritten scrawl to quarantine Katorga-12. And so the knowledge of the island remained buried…until 2010, when intelligence reports in the west confirm activity on a remote atoll in the Russian Federation’s shadow. The world has no memory of Katorga-12. No concept of what may be on the island off the southeast coast of Russia. It is deemed that the world can’t afford another Chernobyl - or worse. America’s answer is to scramble a stealth flyby of the area. They need recon - and they need it now.

Gameplay and Weapons
Action in Singularity is a mix of combat mission gameplay and puzzle-solving. Combat is against both modern and 50s era Russian forces, as well enemies mutated through exposure to E99. In this players have their choice of conventional weapons including: pistols, shotguns, machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, etc., as well as as few Sci-Fi weapons very specific to the game. These include the TMD (Time Manipulation Device) and the E99 pistol. The TMD is a gauntlet, which players acquire early in the game that can be integrated with conventional weapons. Its main function though relates it its ability to alter time within a small specific area. The major examples of this are:

Reversion - The ability to alter encounters by rewinding the history of an item or entity to the time of your choosing. This can be used to repair broken items, render enemies harmlessly embryonic, etc.
Aging - The ability to alter encounters by fast-forwarding the history of objects or entities, rendering the former rusted and worn and the latter decrepit with age or simply dust.
Stasis - The ability to freeze time and thus dangerous situations in order to gain an advantage.
Impulse - The ability to propel objects frozen in time in a targeted direction.
Chronolite - Functionality that allows the player to look back to a time associated with a place, person or object.

Players can also utilize the TMD in conjunction with the E99 pistol, a gun that shoots bullets infused with Element 99, to hit targets unreachable due to distance and otherwise indestructible cover. In addition, to the TMD’s combat uses, it is also indispensable as a tool for solving the spatial-oriented and other types of puzzles that players will face on the island of Katorga-12.

Multiplayer
Singularity contains multiplayer gameplay options, that just as in its single player campaign, integrate conventional combat tactics and weapons with the time manipulation elements.

Key Features

  • An engrossing storyline blending Cold War history and science fiction elements.
  • An arsenal of first-person weapons, including conventional firearms and upgradeable, time altering gadgets.
  • Mission progressing puzzle-solving gameplay.
  • Advanced graphics built on the Unreal 3 game engine.
  • Multiplayer gameplay options.
  • Xbox LIVE support including LIVE Achievements.

3 Stars Overlooked
Got to eat some crow on this one because I panned the game without playing it and it’s not bad at all. A number of reviews (Metacritic) had a problem with the TMD device and it actually comes into use quite a bit. Destroying creatures, slowing down others, creating a Deadlock where you are inclosed in a blue dome and all the enemies in there with you are frozen, slowing down time and a pulse that obliterates others. Leveling up weapons that all work well and different situations and stories that keep it fresh. Small issues other reviewers bring up and their points are valid. MP is a definate hit which was a big surprise. Moderate replay value, very good MP and at 45 bucks a decent value. I’m thinking the game got “lost” in the summer.

5 Stars Singularity review
When I first heard of Singularity last fall, I was pretty happy since I like science fiction style FPS games. Well, after a delay or two the game came out and I am pretty happy I bought it.

PROS:

-Eerie atmosphere (akin to FEAR) that can, and will, keep you on edge

- unique enemies that each take some thought as how to defeat

- A pretty good science fiction/alternate reality story (I won’t spoil here)

-Good gunfights, some thoughtful weaponry

-Good multiplayer, unique because it isn’t just another “soldier v soldier” match, instead it is creatures v soldiers

-On normal, the campaign is probably 8 to 10 hours long, so it isn’t short by any means, maybe typical of fps lengths.

-It is similar to the Bioshock/System Shock 2

-I enjoy not knowing what situation will come next in the campaign, keeps me on edge

- Campaign jumps between the year 2010 and the 1950s

CONS:

-AI needs a little work, but puts up a decent fight (I’m on normal)

-Not too many multiplayer modes yet

-No subtitles or place to reference previously found notes and tape recordings

-tape recordings

-fairly linear story (I don’t mind at all, but some people want a more sandbox style FPS, I guess)

-Iffy Russian accents

-Unfortunately, too many backwards “R” letters, and many of the films or posters are written in english, but using Russian Cyrillic characters to spell which seems lazy or cheesy to me since I know a bit of Russian.

It may seem like there are a lot of cons listed, but really they are nothing major and more of just personal taste for me. I really enjoy this game and intend to play it for quite a while. If you like atmospheric FPS games then go and buy this. Ideally you should have pre-ordered as it came with a free copy of the 360 game “Prototype”, a 1GB usb memory stick, and a multiplayer skin for the regular price of an Xbox 360 game.

4 Stars Solid Game.
1 part Doom3,

1 part BioShock,

add a dash of time manipulation,

shaken not stirred.

About as challenging as Half-Life 2,

About as long as Gears of War 1 or 2,

Worth playing twice.
